# Lineups Setup

## **Introduction**

The Lineups Settings page allows users to customize and manage lineups in a streamlined manner. Lineups are an essential aspect of on snow operations and this page will help align flaik with what supervisors and lineup managers need to see at different lineup locations. This article will guide you through the features and functionalities available on the Lineups Settings page.&#x20;

To handle the different lineups we have broken them into 3 categories based on Task Type:

1. Private lineups
2. Group lineups
3. Program lineups

These 3 categories allow for lineup managers to focus on one area when on the snow and don't have to be navigating between multiple areas/pages.

### What are lineups in flaik?

Lineups are groupings of tasks to allow you to see more guests and instructors at one time. For example, if you have a supervisor managing morning kids lessons, you can group tasks like AM Kids Ski, Full Day Kids Ski, AM Kids Snowboard and Full Day Kids Snowboard together so the supervisor can see them all at once.&#x20;

For Private Lessons, you can also filter by locations and start time so you can see just the lessons that are relevant for a specific time and meeting area.&#x20;

## **Accessing the Lineups settings page**

To access the Lineup settings page:

1. **Navigation**: Once logged in, navigate to the 'Settings' section and go into Product settings.
2. **Lineups Settings**: Look for 'Lineups' tile and click on the Lineups option in the tile.<br>

## **Creating New Lineups**

### To create a new Private Lineup:

1. Click Edit in the right panel and select **Add a private lineup**&#x20;
2. Create a Lineup description to be displayed on the lineup&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://3412627069-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fdh5JD0cdH4KWbjolN2Aa%2Fuploads%2FvgUoBZ27BkWKhroO1RVP%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=880dcaf5-2e22-4c8b-acf5-99fca6eea52b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th></th><th></th><th data-hidden></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Lineup Description</td><td>Displayed on lineup dashboard. Recommended less than 20 characters.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Start Location (Not Required)</td><td>If lineup is being used for private lesson with no start location Select "None" and all locations will be included</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Start after*</td><td>this is the start time of the period the lineup will cover, this time is included in the period</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Start before*</td><td>this is the end time of the period the lineup will cover, this time is included in the period</td><td></td></tr></tbody></table>

**Privates with no location:** if you have created a private lineup you will need to specify start after and start before time, location is available to specify as well but this isn't mandatory and should only be set if your private lessons coming into flaik have a location specified. These fields are provided so when private tasks are assigned to the lineup the associated private lessons which can be at different times of the day and/or start at different locations will appear in the correct private lineups you have created.

### To create a group or program Lineup

Setup is similar to privates, but you will not have location or start time fields.

1. Select **Add a group lineup**
2. Enter a Lineup description
3. Click **Save** on the right.

## **Editing Existing Lineups**

To modify an existing lineup:

1. Click Edit in the panel on the right.
2. Locate the lineup you wish to edit and make the changes to name of the lineup.
3. Click Save in the on the right.

Note: if you have editing a private lineup you can edit the start after, start before and location fields.

## **Assigning Tasks to a Lineup**

The Lineup Settings page also allows you to:

1. **Assign tasks to Private Lineups**: Assign private tasks to private lineups.
2. **Assign tasks to Group Lineups**: Assign group tasks to group lineups.
3. **Assign tasks to Program Lineups**: Assign program tasks to program lineups.

To Assign task(s) to lineup(s) select one or many tasks from the list and then find the **Select lineup** buttom on the bottom right and select one or many lineup(s) to add the selected task(s) to.&#x20;

## **Customization Options**

Additional customization options are available to

### **Reordering Lineups**

Change the sequence/order of lineups so they appear as ordered in the mobile experience.

To re-order the line ups select **Edit** from the right panel. You will see arrows beside each lineup that will allow you to move the lineup(s) to change the order.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://3412627069-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fdh5JD0cdH4KWbjolN2Aa%2Fuploads%2FbR0R61NF3erQR3fFhzPu%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=e8d9e1ea-29f3-40e3-a679-0571bf8a3609" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Enable and Disable Lineups

This will allow you to turn lineups on or off throughout the season to help limit the number of lineups available in the mobile experience.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://3412627069-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fdh5JD0cdH4KWbjolN2Aa%2Fuploads%2FVoc0WGpdHesOQoAY4GC5%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=b58fc048-cded-456c-a978-9bc6c9fc8652" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## **Best Practices**

When using the Lineup Settings page:

1. **On-snow focus:** when deciding on how to configure your lineups (how many, what to group together, etc), think of it in terms of what your on-snow supervisors would want to see. Essentially the lineups should be aligned with what your on-snow supervisors are responsible for.
   1. eg your private lessons have two start times - morning and afternoon. a privates supervisor would want to see the guests booked in for one or the other start time - those should be separate lineups.
   2. eg your kids and adults group lessons meet in different areas. A supervisor is focused on one or the other - as a result, there should be separate lineups for adult and kids group lessons.
   3. eg your adult group lessons have two start times - morning and afternoon. There should be separate lineups for these two start times, so the on-snow supervisor can easily see just the applicable guests for either start time.
2. **Consistency**: Maintain a standardized naming convention for lineups to ease identification and management.
   1. eg Kids AM/Kids PM/Adults AM/Adults PM
3. **Reflect on snow operations**: Try naming lineups so they align with what they are called and communicated to by instructors and supervisors.
4. **Location:** Only set this field in private lineups if you know that private lessons coming into flaik have a specified start location. Setting this incorrectly can lead to private lessons not appearing on lineups as they only appear if they match the specified location. If no location is specified only the start after and start before parameters are used to filter private lessons of the assigned private tasks.
5. **Review:** When making changes to your settings always check them on your mobile to ensure they have the intended result you want your supervisors and lineup managers to see when viewing the Lineup experience on mobile.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledgebase.flaik.com/flaik-knowledge-base/for-administrators/admin-settings-product-settings/lineups/lineups-setup.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
