# Global Settings

Foundational data about the resort that most other flaik Connect endpoints depend on. Fetch these once at the start of an integration session, cache the results, and refer back to them as needed — they change rarely (resort details and seasons typically once a year, surveys when survey configuration is updated).

### Pages in this group

* [**Resort Details**](https://knowledgebase.flaik.com/flaik-knowledge-base/for-it-specialists/3.-flaik-connect-api/global-settings/resort-details) — resort identity and configuration (`GET /api/globalsettings/resort`). Use this to confirm your token resolves to the expected resort, and to read the resort's IANA timezone for interpreting time fields elsewhere.
* [**Seasons**](https://knowledgebase.flaik.com/flaik-knowledge-base/for-it-specialists/3.-flaik-connect-api/global-settings/seasons) — every season configured for the resort (`GET /api/globalsettings/seasons`). Most other endpoints take a `seasonId`; this is where you discover valid IDs.
* [**Survey Definitions**](https://knowledgebase.flaik.com/flaik-knowledge-base/for-it-specialists/3.-flaik-connect-api/global-settings/surveys-by-season) — guest survey configuration for a season (`GET /api/globalsettings/surveys/{seasonId}`). Pair with [Class Survey Responses](https://knowledgebase.flaik.com/flaik-knowledge-base/for-it-specialists/3.-flaik-connect-api/class-management/class-surveys-by-date-range) under Class Management to interpret survey answers.

### Where to start

If you're a new integration, start with [Resort Details](https://knowledgebase.flaik.com/flaik-knowledge-base/for-it-specialists/3.-flaik-connect-api/global-settings/resort-details) to confirm authentication is working, then [Seasons](https://knowledgebase.flaik.com/flaik-knowledge-base/for-it-specialists/3.-flaik-connect-api/global-settings/seasons) to grab the season IDs you'll pass to other endpoints. The [Quick Start](https://knowledgebase.flaik.com/flaik-knowledge-base/for-it-specialists/3.-flaik-connect-api/overview/quick-start) walks through both calls end-to-end.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledgebase.flaik.com/flaik-knowledge-base/for-it-specialists/3.-flaik-connect-api/global-settings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
