# Instructors view

Hone in on the schedule of just one staff member.

In this article, we will cover:

* [Selecting an instructor](#selecting-an-instructor)
* [Duplicating a day's schedule across to other instructors](#duplicating-a-days-schedule-across-to-other-instructors)
* [Viewing the instructor stats panel](#viewing-the-instructor-stats-panel)

## **Selecting an instructor**

In Instructors view, you have the ability to see a single staff member's schedule for the entire season. You can **schedule shifts, tasks, and make edits** as you would in Tasks view. You can also **copy a day** or even multiple days from the selected staff member onto other instructor(s) of your choice.

To navigate to instructors view, Click Scheduling from the navigation bar on the left side of the page, and then click the **Instructors** link.

Now, choose the instructor you would like to display using the Instructor select search bar on the upper right side of the screen. You can start typing the first few letters of their name, and the options will filter down until you find the person you would like to display.

Click on the person you want, and their whole season will be displayed. The first day will snap to the current day, but you can scroll either direction to view the entire season.

## Duplicating a day's schedule across to other instructors

A unique part of Instructor view is that you have the ability to duplicate some of an individual's schedule across to different staff members.

{% hint style="info" %}
**NOTE:** The duplication tools in Scheduling allow you to make a lot of scheduling changes all at once. Depending on your permissions, you may not have access to this tool. If the Duplicate across instructors button is missing, check in with your admin team to see if your account has permission.
{% endhint %}

To do this:

1. First select the days that you would like to duplicate by checking the box to the left of the date.
2. Then choose the "Duplicate across instructors" option from the right hand menu.

![](https://s3.amazonaws.com/cdn.freshdesk.com/data/helpdesk/attachments/production/2043136266847/original/lX6DjO_SrCWUuWZ1V5-ayLLKX5XTtRqv8g.png?1597165564)

You will then be brought into a new screen listing all your staff members.

* Simply choose the instructors you would like to copy the original schedule to by selecting the box to the left of the names.
* Then click the **Next** button in the bottom right.

![](https://s3.amazonaws.com/cdn.freshdesk.com/data/helpdesk/attachments/production/2043136267606/original/H73Fma7WAmjnKF0O2ZdSmGVXqL1hr_roSA.png?1597165718)

The next screen will allow you to resolve any conflicts that exist if the instructors you are trying to copy to have any.

* You can choose to schedule only instructors with no conflicts
* Or schedule the copy anyway and manually resolve the conflict later. (Private data will not be overridden or deleted)

{% hint style="warning" %}
**NOTE:** The conflict summary page checks for conflicts with *private lesson tasks only*. While other tasks or shifts are not be highlighted on this page, they *will* be overwritten when you hit Save.
{% endhint %}

Click **Save** and you will have successfully copied the original data to the other staff members.

## Viewing the instructor stats panel

Another great feature in Instructor view is the ability to see season-wide stats for both Scheduling and Availability. As you are editing schedules and approving days off, you can ensure that an instructor is meeting their minimum commitment.

Navigate there by clicking **Instructor stats** on the bottom right of the screen.

A pane will slide over that shows information from both Scheduling and Availability.

Scheduling:

* Days scheduled
* Days worked
* Off days scheduled

Availability:

* Minimum commitments
* Day type data: peak, mandatory etc.

This is handy if you are making edits and you want to check if your staff are still meeting their minimum commitments for employment.

**Phew!** Now that we've covered Instructors view, we've rounded the corner on Scheduling for desktop. Keep reading to see how all this looks in the mobile experience.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledgebase.flaik.com/flaik-knowledge-base/for-sups-managers/scheduling/scheduling-instructors/instructor-tab.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
