Power Cycle a flaik Tag
At some point, it may be necessary to turn off or reset a tag. To turn off a single device, you may remove/insert the tag in the dock 5 times within 5 seconds until you see the LED begin flashing in a series of rainbow colors. This color scheme is an indication to the user that the device is powering down.
Leave the tag off power for at least 10 seconds to allow the tag to fully shut down (some components will continue the shutdown process after the LED has stopped illuminating). If power cycling, after 10+ seconds, place the tag back on power and allow it to start back up.
To power down a full dock of 25 tags at once, you can remove/replace the dock from power 5 times within 5 seconds, either by using the power cord or a hot dock.
If powering a full dock of tags down for the end of the season, the new 4G tags (introduced for the 2022/23 season), will require two attempts on the full dock power down. In the first attempt, only part of the tags will successfully power down from the full dock due to the tags continually communicating via their cellular connections while on the dock. This creates a bit of lag on the first power-down attempt. To remedy this, allow all tags to power back up after the first attempt and then immediately re-try the power down. All tags should turn off on the second attempt.
Common reasons to reset/power cycle a flaik tag-
The tag has failed BIST (built-in self-test) and is displaying a BIST error (flashing a sequence of red and pink LED)
The tag has no successfully acquired comms/GPS when taken off power and taken outside for an extended period of time
The tag has been docked for an ample amount of time but has not fully charged
The tag LED is experiencing a lag upon being undocked (ie. the LED does not instantly turn yellow off the dock; 3-5 second delay)
