Tag Cage/Strap Assembly

Cage Strap Assembly (empty of actual GPS tag)

Each GPS tag is outfitted with a cage/strap assembly which offers some protection for the tag and allows the GPS device to be worn by the user. The cage is a red plastic cover that has an attached silicone strap designed to be stretched around the leg and secured by one of the loops just above the boot.

Broken Parts-

It is a fairly common occurrence for silicone straps to tear over the course of a season, due to cold temperatures and normal daily use. If this happens, it will be necessary to remove and replace either the entire cage/strap assembly or just the silicone strap if spares are available. Spare parts will be provided with your fleet deployment and made available in a central location at each resort operation which uses flaik GPS tags.

Broken Strap Examples
The cage and the strap can be separated to replace only the broken parts and minimize the waste of the whole unit.

To remove the tag from the cage assembly, you will need to have some sort of tool, like the flaik Tag Removal Key (when available) or a flathead screwdriver. Insert the tip of the tool into the end of the cage that contains the hook (opposite of the strap end). Place the index finger of the hand which is holding the tag on the Tag ID decal. Use a fulcrum motion to unseat the tag from the cage assembly with the tool and guide the tag out of the cage with your index finger.

To place a Tag back into a cage assembly, insert the end of the tag with the angled back plastic into the cage assembly towards the strap and the Tag ID Decal facing out. Snap the Tag into place.
