Applying Shifts
Everything you need to know about applying shifts to your staff in Scheduling.
In this article we will cover:
Scheduling a Single Staff Member
Scheduling Multiple Staff via Auto Schedule Selected
Scheduling a Single Staff Member
You can schedule a single staff member manually (as per video below.)
Click the Edit button.
A dropdown menu will appear below the Edit button. Use this dropdown to select the shift type you want to apply to the schedule.
Click on each day you want to apply the shift type to.
When you're done, click Save & Publish.
Scheduling Multiple Staff via Auto Schedule Selected
In addition to scheduling staff one day at a time, you can also schedule multiple staff at the same time based on the Availability calendar that they have submitted. The days that your staff marked as available will appear as white tiles on the schedule.
Click the Edit button
Use the dropdown to select the shift type you want to apply to the schedule.
Hover your cursor over the blank space to the left of your staff's names. This will reveal hidden checkboxes. Check the boxes to highlight all the staff you would like to schedule.
Click the auto schedule selected button on the right side of the screen.
All available days will be filled in with the shift type you selected in the dropdown. If it looks good, click Save & Publish.
Keyboard Shortcuts
There are a few keyboard shortcuts you can use within the Shifts tab to save time while applying shifts in bulk. There are two options: Scheduling multiple preferred days and scheduling all days.
Scheduling Multiple Preferred Days
This tool will allow you to schedule multiple preferred days (provided by your instructors' Availability selections) all at once. Preferred days are shown in white on the calendar.
To use this shortcut:
Click on the first day you want to schedule.
Hold down the shift key.
Click on the last day you want to schedule.
All the preferred days between each selection will fill in.

Scheduling All Days
This will allow you to schedule all days that are not currently scheduled onto a shift. If a shift is already in place, this will not override that existing selection. This is a great tool for filling in the gaps in your schedule with off shifts.
To use this shortcut:
Click on the first day you want to schedule.
If you're using a PC, hold down the shift key and control key. If you're using a Mac, hold down shift and command.
Click on the last day you want to schedule.
All the days between each selection will fill in. Note that if any of the days already had a shift type, they will not be overridden.
