Whistler Resource List
Driving
For everyone coming up from Vancouver or Seattle, get ready to enjoy the incredibly scenic Sea To Sky highway between Vancouver & Whistler. In addition to useful resources like Google Maps or Waze for general driving directions and arrival time estimates, another great option is the Sea To Sky Road Conditions Facebook group for crowd sourced highway updates.
For those driving up, Squamish marks the midpoint between leaving Vancouver and arriving in Whistler, if you're looking for a break, something to eat or drink, or any other excuse to explore the Sea To Sky Corridor.
Whistler
We recommend staying a few days before or after the conference if you can. The hotel rates are great in the shoulder season during the conference and there are lots to do with world-class biking, hiking, golfing, lakes, dining specials, & all sorts of other activities going on.

Eating
During the shoulder season between summer and winter many restaurants offer various multi-course meal specials. As the event approaches, we will post up-to-date fall specials here.
For general food & beverage options check out this list of some of our favourite spots:
Creekside - close to flaikfest
Rimrock Cafe - Whistler's best restaurant
BReD - organic bakery
Rockit - cool little coffee shop
Creekbread - great wood fired pizzas walking distance from flaikfest HQ
Village - the heart of Whistler
Sushi Village - This iconic sushi spot. Featured in many a ski movie. Great for large groups if you can snag a reservation for one of the large enclosed booths for the true Sushi Village experience!
Mount Currie Coffee - our top coffee recommendation in the village.
Purebread - (also located in Function Junction & Squamish) Looking for a breakfast pastry or sweet? Guaranteed to overwhelm with options in pastries, tarts, bars, cakes, savory scones, cookies...
Pizzeria Antico - Another Italian option with a focus on wood-fired pizzas. Known for great happy hour prices and great local beer selection.
21 Steps - Kitchen and bar featuring modern comfort food and great cocktails. In the heart of Whistler village.
Handlebar, RMU, & Fitzsimmons Pub - three places with great beer selections in the Upper Village on the Blackcomb side.
Other F&B Recommendations - throughout Whistler Valley & beyond
Forecast Coffee - Function Junction & Village. Great coffee, cookies, and a solid choice for a quick lunch. Try the fried chicken sandwich and you will not be disappointed.
Samurai Sushi (just north of the village) - If you want a quick sushi hit for lunch or dinner, Samurai is our fav quick sushi experience. Not as fancy as Sushi Village, but great bang for the buck.
Coast Mountain Brewing (Function Junction) - If you only go to one brewery while you're in town, this is it. A flaik team favorite.
Backcountry Brewing - (Squamish) Okay... if you go to two breweries while at flaikfest, this has got to be the second. Great pit stop in Squamish on your way up the Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler - also check out their pizzas.
Table Nineteen (at Nicklas North golf course, north of the village) - restaurant and bar, with the best patio in town.
Squamish (along the way to Whistler)
Marking the midpoint on the drive from Vancouver to Whistler is the town of Squamish. In addition to countless options to stop to eat or grab something to drink for the rest of the drive there are plenty of opportunities to get out of your car to stretch your legs if you so choose.
